Another year passed

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 18, 2014, 1:58 PM
Or two, I don't know, but isn't every journal in DeviantArt full of the same apologies? "I'm sorry I haven't updated this in forever", and I'm gonna have to add my own apology today. I've had so many things going on, I love being surrounded by creative and driven people and I'm happy to say I'm becoming one of them myself.

I've been designing some album covers that I'll update soon (including this one that you might have seen already)

All About by AzR by satchito
All About - AzR

Also I designed a logo for a new burrito joint here in Brooklyn, I haven't post any of that yet but I wanted it to take off and to make sure the owner, my friend Pepe is cool with it, I'll update accordingly.

Also I'm (as always) pushing towards my own business, the t-shirt company that I called Flying Pouch (see next thumb), for which I'm still looking for illustrators all over the world that want to be part of it. If you're interested in having your illustrations put on kid's t-shirts (and of course, make money from it) please contact me!!

Finally, because I've been away for so long I have thousands (literally, like 7,000) of deviations to check out, and I think that's gonna take a couple months, but meanwhile please check out this pieces I found recently and that caught my eye, show this artists some love!!!

Features are back!

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 14, 2012, 9:50 PM
In other news! it's been a long time since I last posted a proper feature, until tonight I had some serious time to go through a lot of deviations here, I went through like 2000, and I still have more than 4000 to review but there is so many pieces so very well done that I'm eager to continue tomorrow!

I just wanted to feature some of the works that I particularly enjoyed tonight, they don't really have a theme in common, I added them to different categories, but I really liked every one of them. Maybe they're recent works, maybe they've been posted for months but I just happened to find them.

Racism

Journal Entry: Fri Jan 13, 2012, 9:31 AM
I got a note today from this lady :iconwhitequeen2012: who I'm guessing is this girl :iconmscomicstar86: or one of her hispanic friends (ironically). The note reads as follows:

"You mexican trash, you don't like something then don't look, don't waste your time as I see you have A LOT of time to trash people's work regardless if you feel it isn't work to you. You're one man who is truly ignorant from mexico. It's sad I work beside your slave race living in groups collecting cans for money. The woman who are just ugly insane and sad in the streets. Look at your race and see you guys are nothing but losers a 3rd world country who nobody cares about. You're ignorant, rude, nasty and stupid. NOBODY will vow to your belief that you're this pro...freaking beaner."

Looks like someone's really offended by MY OPINION... what the hell? I didn't know I was such an eminence.

Love,
Marco

The Creators Project featuring: ME

Journal Entry: Sat Oct 29, 2011, 11:40 PM
Ok guys, the Art Below exhibition in London, UK is over. Thank everyone for their support! I'm getting my poster directly from London this week so I'll sign it and raffle it off among the ones that helped me to make this dream come true!!

In other news, my latest collection Mechanical Visions was featured on The Creators Project website!! The Creators Project is an initiative for creative people sponsored by Intel and Vice, it was such an honor to me that they picked my collection to feature it. They took it from Behance Network, where I also have some of my stuff up. Unfortunately, it was 2 weeks ago and I couldn't post this on time for you to see it in the front page, but the collection is still there on page 5. Anyway, this is the direct link so you can see it gallery.thecreatorsproject.com…

Also you can see it in higher resolution here on deviantArt!

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 17, 2011, 10:15 PM
Well well well! you guys couldn't help me pick a subway station in my last journal, but I found some people who did! so now it's official! My piece Theatre will be featured at the ArtBelow exhibition in the London Underground (I said subway before, in New York it's called subway and I don't care, ok?).

So here's the deal, this is the piece

theatre by satchito

Calling all deviants in London, UK!!!

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 14, 2011, 10:35 PM
Well well, I got an email from the people at Art Below www.artbelow.org.uk and they told me my piece "Theatre" made it through the jury so I'll be participating in the exhibition in September!!

I'm thrilled for the chance, the only problem I have is that they gave me a list of subway stations in London so I pick one of them to have the piece exhibited and I DON'T KNOW THE SUBWAY IN LONDON! I would appreciate if those of you who are familiar with it could help me with this, it's very important to me!

The list of stations is:

Archway
Aldgate East
Bethinal Green
Borough
Cannon Street
Chalk Farm
Edgware Road
Elephant & Castle
Finsbury Park
Fulham Broadway
Greta Portland St.
Holland Park
Highgate
Hyde Park Conrer
Kennington
Kentish Town
Ladbroke Grove
Pimlico
Regents Park
Southwark
St. Pauls
St. Johns Wood
Swiss Cottage
Westbourne Park
White City

I think there are no "major" stations on the list, I guess they're saving them for only the best works hehe but anyway, I hope you can help! please any advice would be good, I haven't even been in London, I don't have the slightest idea of what this names mean!!!

Thank you very very much for any of you that can help!!

prints of my pictures are now for sale!

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 23, 2011, 12:58 PM
Ok so I decided to give a try to the (apparently) first reason for DeviantArt to exist, which is selling artwork.

So yeah, I've been uploading some new stuff that's available for print, I will also re-upload some previous work that is not in high definition and this time it'll be, so you might see a couple of things you've already seen before. If you're a new watcher then you'll get to see what I think it's the best of my previous work without having to browse my gallery.

I've been thinking about the pieces that I love the most and I want to put for sale, and I already picked some stuff. Do any of you have any suggestions though?

Have a great weekend you all.

Love & Respect,
Marco

First impressions of New York

Journal Entry: Sun May 1, 2011, 10:13 PM
Well... I don't even know where to start. My life has been such a ride lately!

I got to New York almost 3 weeks ago and right now I can't describe how I feel. Many people thought this was a crazy idea, some other showed me their support since day one, there are even people that I would've loved to share this experience with, but they decided they didn't want me in their lives, each one for their own reasons. And after struggling with myself for months, I finally decided to take that plane on April 12th and leave all behind, I left everything behind except the immense love for and from my family, and the unconditional love for and from my friends.

One thing after another, signals have been telling me that I belong here, everything was set without me even knowing about it, the connections I've made so fare amaze me every day. I broke all the records among new yorkers I've known, in less than 3 weeks I got a job, a room and started shooting pictures for a chef, also yesterday night I shoot my first live band in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I went from having nothing to having all the opportunities slamming right into my face, and even when I haven't (of course) made my first million of dollars, I might be one of the happiest men on Earth, I'm living a dream, each day that passes I encourage myself to use all the things I've learned through my life, and I mean EVERYTHING; from cooking, to speaking english to being capable of taking pictures of a band I've never seen live before and getting a couple of nice shots. From using the subway to negotiate with people; from smiling to a stranger on the street to take care of myself when I wander alone. From going to the deli to get cheap food to walking the streets feeling like I'm actually inside a dream. By the way, tomorrow I'm moving to a very VERY nice (and cheap) mini-loft that I found on East Harlem.

There are still people in my head that I want to forget about; although most people inside my head are meant to be there forever, and to to them I must say thank you with all my heart, with the most honest smile I can give you. Dehne, Julio, Ariel: thank you for giving me a place to stay and for not letting me sleep in the park. My list would be endless, but I wanted to mention at least those three great friends, old and new because thanks to them I had a roof and a cover, even a mattress! food, water and A LOT of help.

For the rest of you (probably more than 50 people) THANK YOU with all my heart, you know who you are.

Love & Respect
Marco

Finally in NYC

Journal Entry: Thu Nov 25, 2010, 3:17 PM
It was a long day that started 4:30 a.m. 6 a.m. I was at the airport, 9 a.m. I was taking off on a Continental airplane, 6 p.m. I was arriving to this apartment in Hamilton Heights, I went out to have dinner at Two Boots, dessert at Magnolia Bakery and a drink at The Bitter End, nothing really fancy, but really really tasty, I got home again around 2 a.m. and I went to sleep at 3 a.m.

Finally, I had the time to sit here and write. I'm loving NYC, truly :]

I'll be here for a while, so if you are around, let me know!!!

I'm going to NYC

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 9, 2010, 5:41 PM
Hey people,

I haven't been here in a while but I wanna take this opportunity for two things:

First - I will be @ New York City from Nov. 23rd to Dec. 18th, so if anybody wants to buy me a cup of coffee, have a talk or just hang out somewhere I would really enjoy that! if you are around NY drop me a message here and maybe we can arrange something, I would love to meet some talented people over there.

Second - Thank you VERY VERY MUCH for all the favs and watches and comments I've recieved lately, I haven't had the time to thank you individually ('cause that's usually what I do), but I will, I just don't have enough time right now. But I really appreciate your interest in my work; also I wanna thank the people that have requested prints but I'm afraid I don't sell prints here, my work is not in HD so I don't wanna sell a bad copy of any piece... but you might have noticed that all my files (except some models' pictures) are free to download. PLEASE, feel free to download them and you can print yourself a copy or keep it on your computer. I find it really flattering when people wants to keep my pieces so you are free to do so. I believe the internet is a free source of imagery and I won't complain if you print my pieces for yourself. So as long as you are not making money out of them or crediting them as your own, you are free to download and enjoy them.

Of course, if some of you actually print something for yourself, let me know!! I would like to know what people does with my stuff.

Thank you again!

Love & Respect
Marco

Ps. Just some images I've found really interesting lately, show them some love!!
