Well it's a mixture of Burn tool and a large and soft black brush, when I manipulated the contrast and saturation, one of the corners looked dark... so I made all the corners darker :]

The effect is goergous!! I'm totally amateur photo manipulator so I look for any new tricks that I can use in my photos... Thanks for advice

Go ahead and have fun :] just keep in mind all the changes should be subtle, use the Burn tool and the Brush with a low percentage around 20%, the result is much better if you pass the brush many times like this than if you pass it two or three times at 100% :]

Thanks for all your advice

tell me only one more thing - what software do you use. I use PS 7 CE and I haven't found there such a tool. Or maybe I simply just can't find it

I'm using Photoshop CS2, I don't know if your version of Photoshop has the Burn tool, it must be under the Paint Bucket Tool button, it's in the same space with the Sponge Tool and the Dodge Tool, you have to keep the button pressed to get the three options.

yes, I have that function and I was already using it to make something darker, but I have never discovered how to use it to make a frame - I tried but never managed to receive a proper effect :/ Maybe in your version of the programm the burn tool is modified... Some time ago I had some other version of PS on my computer and now when I again started to work on photos I see some differences, maybe it is one of them...

You can use a soft Brush Tool with black color instead, just be sure you set it to 20 or 30% opacity :]
